When it comes to January I always come to a fashion slump. Sick and tired of wearing winter clothes yet not quite ready for full on Summer mode. It can be difficult to get inspired when you see your beloved winter coat marked down in the January Sales. I always think that now is a bit of a void on the fashion front. Its a couple of months away before we will see the new Spring/Summer collections truly trickle into stores. Then it will be why is there swimwear on sale in March?
During this time is when I look to my wardrobe and have a good clear out of things that I haven’t worn in a while. When doing this I will be left with two piles, one to sell and one to keep. With fashion and trends changing often I think it’s really important to get rid of items I no longer wear. Trying not to buy too much into trends these pieces will often be items I have bought on sale, worn once and never again or items I have enjoyed wearing but I have worn them to death. Sometimes I might fall back in love with an item I forgot I had or I will be re-inspired to wear the item but in a different way. I regularly sell items on eBay and use the money made from selling clothes to buy new things. This makes me feel less guilty when the money from selling old clothes can contribute to nice new ones.
It’s also a good time to evaluate what you already have in your wardrobe and find new ways to wear them. You can never go wrong with a classic item such as a black polo neck. I often wear this throughout Autumn/Winter as they are so easy to wear, keep me warm and can be styled in so many different ways. It’s so easy to wear them smart or casual. When looking to buy knitwear always make sure there is a decent percent of wool mixed into the fabric. This will ensure that it keeps you warm and is of a good quality. When it came to putting together this outfit all of the items I already had apart from the Check Trousers. This is a good example of updating items in your wardrobe and wearing them in a different way. Houndstooth trousers have been all over the High Street this Winter and I found it hard not to buy into this trend. I know however that these trouser can take me through to Spring and won’t necessarily go out of fashion quickly.

This does not affect the price you pay in any way at all.
